As a mother I know how exciting moment is to become a parent. When my daughter Josephine was born all I wanted to do was keep my precious little one safe and healthy. This is the reason I created Bebe Coco Organic. A health and eco conscious brand of baby clothing and accessories that combines responsibly sourced organic fabrics with fashionable design.

What type of natural/organic products/services do you sell in the Middle East?

Bebe Coco Organic is a brand which is based on parent’s needs and experiences. We are designing fashionable clothes (from newborn up to 6 years old) made out of 100% organic fabrics (cotton and bamboo). Our fabrics are sourced from biologically clean plantations both toxin and GMO free. Soft, breathable and thermoregulating, hypoallergenic and antibacterial, all our apparel is excellent especially for Middle East climate and ideal for baby’s / kid’s sensitive and gentle skin.

This year, in response to the Middle East market needs, we are going to introduce organic bamboo line of bed textiles and babies accessories such as: feeding pillows, swaddles and playing mats, sleeping pods.

Everything that we create is based on love, passion and experience enjoying life as the parent. What do we care about most? Details to keep your baby safe, cozy and elegantly fashionable. Because we believe that our babies deserve the best.

In your opinion, how popular is the organic industry in the UAE and the Middle East?

Like organic food 20 years ago, the idea of organic fiber is confusing to many of customers. It’s taken a little longer to catch on because the correlation isn’t as direct. We don’t eat organic fabrics. However, more people are becoming knowledgeable as to how the organic fabrics movement is just as powerful and important as that of organic food.

I can see more and more organic products becoming available on the UAE market as consumers become more aware of the benefits of organic products. According to Organic Trade Association’s organic market in general is growing every year by 9%. However in my opinion the Middle East still lags far behind Europe in terms of the adoption of organic products especially clothes. The good news is that this gap is getting smaller every year.

Why, in your opinion, do people prefer buying organic nowadays?

From my experience I can see that discerning parents are more conscious about the negative side effects of non-organic products. They are actively seeking out organic products for their children and themselves. This is still a small group but this group tends to be more affluent and less price sensitive.

Worthy to highlight is the fact that organic fabrics are ideal for kids with allergy which is affecting more and more kids in different age nowadays. That is why we have taken care of that growing market niche of parents who are looking for clothes made out of the organic fabrics but want to dress up their kids in elegant and trendy way not boring casual style.

Nowadays organic is not the new temporary trend only is the lifestyle people have chosen to be part of. Environmentally and socially responsible and eco& healthy, sustainable way of living is becoming more popular as people are getting educated and conscious of what they eat, wear and use on everyday basis.

How do you determine the products to sell in this market?

I initially started my company as a passion project. When my daughter was born my family and friends started giving me baby clothes as gifts. I could help but notice the chemical smell and really poor quality of these clothes. I thought to myself that there must be a better way and started looking for organic baby clothing. After not being able to find what I wanted I decided to create my own brand. These days a lot of what I do is determined by what my customers want and expecting from Bebe Coco products.
