Let’s take a look at the opinion of Gemma O’Dwyer- Brand Manager, Beautiful Brands on the natural/organic industry.
In your opinion, how popular is the organic/natural industry in the UAE and the Middle East?
Within the past three years I have seen the market grow from just curiosity, to now a global trend. We are now more educated and making conscious choices of what we are eating and using on our skin. Our Beautiful Brands website page is committed to increasing the awareness of clean beauty and our exposure to harmful chemicals in our daily skincare routines.
Why, in your opinion, do people prefer buying organic nowadays?
We now live in a much more health conscious society. There is much more awareness of the harmful effects of chemicals. More recently I have seen an increase in mums choosing Organic alternatives, for their babies and children. For too many years we have been lead to believe that our most trusted brands are safe, when in fact they are packed full of chemicals that can lead to many health related issues.
How do you determine/discover the products to sell in this market?
At Beautiful Brands we look at the Global trends in Niche Beauty. Our office is full of Beauty Addicts, first we have to fall in love with a brand before we introduce it to the Middle East market! We import brands from all over the world including USA (Rahua and Balanced Guru) UK (The Organic Pharmacy, Urban Veda and Konjac Sponge Company) and as far as Australia (Grown Alchemist).
To conclude, several companies in the UAE, including Beautiful Brands, are actively looking for special organic/natural products from all over the world to sell within the Middle East.
